Step 7: Closing Outlook Express and Windows MessengerYou must close Outlook Express and Windows Messenger before proceeding to the next step of the restore procedure. In order to operate correctly, Outlook Express Backup Wizard requires exclusive access to all Outlook Express files and Registry keys. If you have Outlook Express or Windows Messenger running, please close these programs. After closing Outlook Express and Windows Messenger, check the appropriate checkboxes and click Next. Warning: Attempts to restore while Outlook Express or Windows Messenger is running may damage your current Outlook Express database. On some systems the wizard may ask you to restart your computer. In this case, click the Restart button. This is necessary in order to complete the restore procedure.
